Shortcut arrow icon
I was using the "Rebuild Icons" option in Tweak UI to fix it, but after it happened a couple times, my computer usually crashed, anyway. The thing getting corrupted the most is the little shortcut icon overly arrow. Getting sick of using "Rebuild Icons" I tried to simply change the icon being used by using Tweak

back to TweakUI and set the shortcut arrow back to = the usual small arrow in a box, and everything will be as normal. When I change the shortcut overlay in TweakUI (though, personally, I think the default one is the best I've seen and I think not having one is dangerous, but thats another story), I get a new entry, "29" which points to the new shortcut overlay icon I have selected. Tweakui won't update shortcut icons
If you want to customize the shortcut arrow, it can be done, because the arrow is simply another icon. The arrow "icon" is simply superimposed on the shortcut's icon. You can open the "Change Icon" dialog box on any shortcut and find the arrow icon in the 29th position. To change the arrow, do the following: 1.

Maybe this isn't too important, but what are some of the various mail icons? When I read a message, the envelope appears open. When there is an attachment, a paperclip appears. Using TWEAKUI, I changed the shortcut overlay icon from the default small white arrow to the big grey arrow. Sometimes when the workstation is rebooted, IE 4 can corrupt the icon cache. The usual symptoms are that an overlay icon (such as the shortcut arrow) is replaced by a random different icon.
