I'm having problems removing the shortcut arrow from icons. I have tried TweakUI + various other tweak tools, as well as getting rid of the "IsShortcut" entries from the registry - all to no avail. The arrow will just not go away - I'm running Win98se 4.10.2222 A with all critical windows updates applied.

Tweakui has added 29 (custom shortcut arrow). Some other tweak program has set 2 (exe files without inbuilt icons and com file which can't have icons) to = 2. But it defaults to 2 if there is no entry. (0 defaults to 0, 1 defaults to 1, 2 to 2, n to n, 46 to 46 same as the order in shell32).

Does Microsoft have a version of Tweak UI that is compatible with Win 2000? I don't really care for third party stuff if I can avoid it. If not, how do I modify the registry to delete those nasty little arrows? OnTrack's SystemSuite can do it for you. I bought it recently and have been quite impressed. Bertie.
